Description
With the v1.1 release of their Electra, Aeroplane Heaven have also provided a long range “Special” version that matches the plane Amelia Earhart flew on her around the world record attempt.
I plan on recreating her flight with this plane but wanted to have the option to have modern avionics so I could leave some of the longer legs flying unattended overnight. The Aeroplane Heaven Special Electra does not have the option to switch out the Sperry autogryo with a more modern Garmin GX3 like their standard range Electra model so I created this mod.
This mod simply replaces the Sperry in the Amelia Earhart Special with the Garmin GX3.
Installation:
Extract the folder from the downloaded zip file and drop it in your Community folder. Next time you start the sim you will see that the “Special” has been renamed to “Special Modern” in the list of airplanes.

- Find the Community folder on your computer
- Windows – C:/Users/[Computer Name]/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe/LocalCache/Packages/Community
- Steam – C:/Users/[Computer Name]/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.FlightDashboard_8wekyb3d8bbwe/LocalCache/Packages/Community
- Copy the downloaded file to your Community folder like this: /Community/[MOD FOLDER]/[MOD FILES]
- Launch the game and enjoy your mod!
