The Carrera Panamericana was a border-to-border sedan and sports car racing event on open roads in Mexico similar to the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio in Italy. Running for five consecutive years from 1950 to 1954, it was widely held by contemporaries to be the most dangerous race of any type in the world. After the 2,178 mile (3,507 kilometer) north-south Mexican section of the Pan-American Highway was completed in 1950 a nine-stage, five-day race across the country was organized by the national government to celebrate its achievement and attract international business. The 1950 race ran almost entirely along the new roadway.
Even if you have no interest in the historic motor racing in this bush trip, it is worth downloading just to see the fabulous scenery of Mexico. The route follows the 1953 route making eight stops in the cities the real racers did in a trip of about 1,500 miles. This bush trip is intended for those with some experience of bush trips as some of the legs are quite long and a lot of the landscape is between 5,000 and 8,000 feet. The way points give the flier a chance to regain the route of the race as well as a chance to read about the history of the five races that took place in the early 1950’s.
I have chosen the DA-40 and clear skies for this trip to maximise the views on offer although the weather can be changed within the trip (and the plane with use of Dev Mode). The plane is pleasingly fast for the longer legs without spoiling the VFR feeling and copes well with the high altitude.

To run the bush flight, just unpack the ‘graldedivpaangelhcorzo-abrahamgonzalezintl-mission’ folder from the .zip file and place it in your community folder.
