Route 66 – The mother of all roads
The route is nothing more than the legendary Route 66, the most famous of all roads in the USA or “mother of all roads” as it is sung about in a song. With its 2,448 US miles it connects the cities of Chicago and LA / Santa Monica. The road itself no longer exists in its origin, but has been partially built over by highways or replaced by wider roads, which take more account of today’s requirements and lead around the towns and cities that Route 66 once crossed. After all, around 2,000 miles of the original route have been preserved, albeit sometimes as a sand runway. We will encounter many legendary and historical events on this tour.
The course does not always follow Route 66 exactly. Otherwise, more than 400 waypoints would not have been enough. Too many waypoints mean that the simulator no longer runs smoothly.
ATTENTION: The machine is well loaded. If you want to use a smaller aircraft than the Cessna Grand Caravan, you should make sure at the beginning that the machine is not overloaded. Instructions on how to replace the aircraft are available in the read_me_first file.
Installation:
Extract the folder into the community folder of the MSFS. Restart the simulator.
Multilingual:
The package is multilingual. The basic language is German. The language that is preset in MSFS is used.
The following languages are machine-translated: English US, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese BR and Russian. The translations may contain errors. If you know a better translation, please let me know.
AddOns:
AddOns are not necessary for these flights. There are some add-ons of landscapes and cities that are suitable for this, and new ones are always being added. Please take a look for yourself to find something suitable.
Known Issues That Cannot Be Fixed Now Due To Limitations In The MSFS 2020 SDK:

Refuel:
During the flight and on airfields without gas station, the refueling button is not displayed. This is not an error, but intended for Bush Trips. If the tank is empty, you can still fill it.
There is an unoccupied function “Repair and refuel” in the simulator. Please assign a key or key combination to this function.
Navlog and Nav-Map do not open automatically.
Please press the “n” or “v” key before starting or click on the corresponding button in the upper menu.
The roll-out tape does not appear.
If you do not find the assigned parking place, you will not be allowed to take off for the next flight. Only a little cheating can help. Either you start the next flight without a takeoff permit or you stand in any parking space after the flight without a taxi permit.
After the update of MSFS to V 1.14.5.0, adjusting the sim rate no longer works in many cases. (Maybe it will stay like this, maybe it will be fixed in the future.) Please let Zendesk know. The more that do, the better.
